What is a Loaded Tea?

A loaded tea is a cocktail of vitamins, aloe, caffeine and flavoring mixed with water. The majority of them, especially the super popular tea shops, come from Herbalife with the promise of increased energy, focus and even weight loss.

Here in Louisiana, it seems like a tea shop or nutrition club is on every corner selling these vibrantly colored drinks at a crazy fast pace. So what’s the catch? They sell for $5 to $8 a pop. My budget says, “No, way!”

How to make your own loaded teas

I first started this deep dive with Loaded Teas: Are They Worth It? where I told you the Great Value Flavored Energy Drink Mix has 120 mg of caffeine for only 25 cents per serving.

That led to our Frugal Loaded Tea, which has 180 mg of caffeine and only costs 86 cents per serving. It was such a huge success, that I went back to the drawing board to come up with more loaded tea recipes for y’all!

These five loaded teas are easy to make at home, don’t require any Herbalife products or supplements, and all ring in for LESS THAN ONE DOLLAR per serving.

I found every single ingredient used for these teas at my local Walmart and bought the generic brand when available. You can still enjoy high quality flavor and get your energy boost without blowing your budget!

You can click on each one of these to see the full recipe and ingredient list.

DIY Loaded Teas at home are just another example of how you can find ways to treat yourself even on a budget.

Play around with flavors and caffeine substitutes until you find your go-to drink. Oh, and don’t forget to customize it with a fun name! My personal favorite is Southern Sunset.

ENJOY!
